On My Mind Monday

Happy Monday all!

I am starting this week with a big fat smile since we had such a sunny weekend! YAY!!!! And the next several days look sunny and warm! {insert all the praise hands!} First on my mind is Grant’s birthday since it was celebrated all week long! Dinner’s out, cousin breakfasts, classroom visits and tent sleepovers made it one to remember! Long story {which you can read here} short, we decided to keep things very simple this year. No gifts from us…just the gift of time, and an adventure of some kind.

When trying to guess where he would get to go for his birthday, his first guess was Gigi and Papa’s house! Which was AWESOME! Because when that is the expectation, I knew he would be excited to go anywhere!! Was a little nervous he would think we would be going somewhere on the Disneyland level…ha! So we now have a countdown till our visit to Six Flags St.Louis at the end of the month, and we are ALL pretty excited. Grant’s friend party was kept super easy to plan for and super LOUD to have. I mean, have you been around a group of 6 year old boys lately?!?! The energy is next level.  We rented a bouncy water slide from this company, and the kids loved it!! We also cranked the heater up on our pool so they ran back and forth and back and forth. Seriously, not a single balloon or decoration, and they were all as happy as can be! They just wanted cupcakes and a place to RUN! For our party favors, which I am kicking myself I didn’t at least snap a pic of {amateur blogger over here}, we made up fluffy slime kits. I am all about simple and easy and this was! We got a little bucket from the party supply store, threw in an Elmer’s glue bottle, a small tupperware of clear Tide, one color container of food coloring, a bottle of foaming shaving cream, and a big spoon. All together I think the cost was between $7-8.

#ootd: For Grant’s birthday I wore this romper,in green, which I have to tell you, I will be living in this summer! Livvvvvvinnng. It’s super comfy and you know I love a tie strap! It’s less than $90, comes in black and apricot, and has pockets! It’s a love. Speaking of rompers…now I want this one pretty badly. I have a hard time saying no to a bow. This high neck one is summer-tball-game-park-outting perfection! And I LOVE the shade of gray!

Also, juuuuuussst realized I have less than a week until Mother’s Day! Sorry mom!! Thankfully my mom has known me my entire life and I am sure she is aware I have procrastinated and/or forgotten! Not to fear, Amazon Prime is here 😉 amiright! Anyway, here is the link to last year’s Mother’s Day gift guide since I am short on time this year, and truthfully stand by all of those gifts still!! What are you all getting your mama’s for mother’s day?

Also on my mind is last night’s Real Housewives Atlanta reunion. Holy moly! Even I was uncomfortable at home in my own bed watching!! Phaedra is crazy!! Like actually crazy….I’m not a huge Atlanta fan, but it makes for some good “while I am trying to sleep tv”…except for last night 😉 And I LOVE Andy Cohen.

Lastly, on my mind is my husband. Because while I do love him everyday, he made it reallllllly easy to this weekend. He spent a ton of time cleaning out and gutting our basement garage and pool area getting it ready for this summer and for Grant’s party. People, he worked harrrrrrrrdddddd. I have a “I don’t deal in Spider-y places” stance, so the basement garage is a hazard for me, but the kids run in and out of getting popsicles and rafts all summer long, so it needed a major clean out.  Then, after working to get it all ready, he spent almost the entire party in the water with the crazy boys. Throwing them {6 year old are HEAVY} and playing and refereeing. And the very best part, is he did it so happily.

Our life is because and hectic and messy with 3 small ones, and I think my love language really is acts of service, because I felt so loved in the way he worked so hard for his family this weekend {well and every stinkin day he goes into the office for that matter}. So, while I am sure he won’t read this, just want to share how much I appreciate him and how much he does to keep our boat afloat! Hope everyone has an awesome week!! xoxo

P.S. Have to share this peplum t-shirt, {which is now on SALE}. Here it is in their new summer colors.  I have in an xs but just order the tank top version of this t in a small to see if it will give me a little more length! It’s a love, and it is so EASY.
