Stella’s FOUR.

Say whhhhhat? I can’t even. No really, I can’t even.

Yesterday we celebrated Stella’s birthday from sun up to sun down! Here are some pics and a lil breakdown of all the fun we had.

Before I start though, I want to say that one of my favorite parts of the day was when Grant woke up.  Grant is my most “excitable” kid.  He is generally even keeled, but when there is a reason to be pumped, no-one gets more amped than him.  He came into our bed in the middle of the night and whispered “Mom! I saw the kitchen!” {I had decorated before I went to bed}. I could actually hear him smiling. Then in the morning, he and I were up first and he went running in and was SO EXCITED for his sister to wake up and see it all. I love his enthusiasm and hope he always has it and can channel it to do some big life stuff.

I am a avid gum chewer and when Grant was a tot he would ask for it all of the time. I think I was always afraid he would choke, so I told him he couldn’t have gum until he was four {because it felt 9 million miles away at the time} and then he could have all the gum he wanted. I didn’t mean to make it a ‘thing”, but Stella just grew up seeing that we didn’t eat gum til we turned four…And then in the blink of an eye, here we are with Stella now turning four. So Grant and I went out and loaded up her favorite cat purse with all of the yummy kinds of gum we could find. Bubble tape, Dr. Pepper, Fruity, Ice cube gum, Fruit Stripes, Bubblicious…we loaded her up. Kind of a fun and unexpected tradition for us!

Her birthday, like her, seemed to be doused in magic. It was nothing extravagant and certainly not pinterest worthy, but the longer I “mother”, the more I realize they don’t need {or even really want} all of that. She got our time, our attention, and our love.  Made for a pretty rad day.  Plus, digging a toy outta the birthday bin at school pretty much rocked, so there is that!

So now I have a 5, 4 and 1 year old.

Holy sh*t.

Anyway, little note to our Lala below. Nothing she doesn’t already know, but always nice to be reminded.

Oh Stella,

You are our spit fire, our caretaker, and most certainly our comic relief.  I hope and pray that someday you have a kiddo just like you…someone who makes you laugh the big laughs, someone strong, someone loyal and someone who goes all in, in all ways.

Four is going to be a good one for you sis. I can feel it.

And I love you more than you know.

xoxo
