Travel Series: Packing

Next up in the travel series, what to take for ole mama! This has been fun to work on because it is gloom and doom weather here, so I am in a tropical headspace searching for these goodies!

I should first start by saying that I am always an over packer. I ALWAYS bring way to much…so my hope is by starting early this go around, will be to pack smarter. Do you remember when I fit an entire weeks worth of clothing into this carry on for Hawaii? Goals, for this trip.

Taking kids, means more time in cover ups and less time getting “glammed”. I like ones that are practical, and I can wrangle kids in…but can also leave on and wear “out” anywhere we may venture.

Cover Ups: I struggle here a bit because so many of my swimsuits are either high-necked or have tons of ruffles, sleeves, etc. And I want to thank everyone who messaged me with ideas for my high neck suit! I ordered this one but am planning on ordering a few more incase it doesn’t work {You guys I do a LOT of returning}. Anyway, here are some of my favorites that I found.

Loved this peacock print when I saw it last summer…and now it is on sale!!

This little romper set is DARLING. But more of a day out outfit, than a cover up I think.

Outfits: I will try and pack things that can we mixed and matched pretty easily.  I splurged on these shorts a year and a half ago {after debating on them for a year} and they have been a LOVE! I can pair it with pretty much anything. {note, I think the sizing runs a little big}. I will also bring a pair of high waist denim shorts I have. This season I am loving this and this pair.

As far as tops go, I will throw in a handful of easy tanks and tees. I am ordering one of these Madewell tee’s today because I have heard such great things about them and picked up this tank to take this weekend! Simple basics to throw on with some above denim or my yoga pants.

I will pack several easy dresses/rompers because there is nothing easier than that! One piece. Throw it on and go. Here are the ones I am loving this season for beaching it!

When it comes to shoes, I will get each kid a pair of these which can take them from water to beach to dinner.

For me, I will throw in my Birkenstocks, and a couple pair of flips.  I majorly have my eyes on these tho that I think would be great for shorts and to wear on our travel day! I may try to find a fun pair of sandals, but since we will have all the kids with us, and kind of at a remote spot, I think its going to be a super casual trip.

Will share more goodies as I come across them! Still need a hat, and maybe another pair of sunnies so stay tuned! Up next I am trying to compile my “must haves” when traveling with kids {especially on a plane! Ah!}

Weekend is just around the corner friends!!
